Default Anyone ever use Maca?

I went to my herbalist today to get my husband thyroid and adreanal suppliments, and I was talking to her about my problem. I have had my period for 12 days. When I called her at the start of all of this, she thought that I should go on a progesterone/wild yam cream. But the more I read about it (yes, an informes cyster is a powerful cyster, thank you Kat!!!) I realized that this may not be what I need. I do not want to have my period right now, I am having to much as it is. So I asked her to Muscle test me for some other product. She had a bottle of tincture of Maca. I have never heard of this root, but since the company that makes this is reliable I was willing to try. I have looked it up on the internet and what I am finding is that it is great for PMS, hormone regulation, memory problems associated with hormone imbalances, hot flashes etc. etc etc. So what I was wondering is: have any of you ladies use this? Did you like it, what symptoms where you using it for, and how did it affect them? Maca is also touted as an aphrodesiac, eeek!!! That should make thing intersting!!!! I realy value y'alls input, so thank you in advance!!
God Bless You and Yours

I use Maca root. it is supposed to work on the hypothalamus to help regulate the endocrine system. I don't know if it has had much effect on me, but until 2 weeks ago, I was also on bcps, so the Maca couldn't have had much effect on my cycles.

This article says it's useful for any female hormonal therapies:
http://www.mercola.com/2000/nov/12/womens_hormones.htm

When I started on it, I did a lot of research. I like it because it's also an adaptogen and I have adrenal problems, so for the time being, I'm sticking with it. But I'm also taking a whole bunch of other stuff, so it's hard to tell which supps have which effects. I think you might as well try the Maca -- there is plenty of scientific evidence to justify using it.
