Hi everyone! Has anyone ever challenged their insurance company regarding lack of hair removal coverage and gotten coverage? I think I am ready to go to bat with my company. I mean, if they cover rogaine for men's hair loss which I sure would consider cosmetic, shouldn't they cover laser hair removal for PCOS sufferers? Afterall, it is a proven symptom of the disease!
It's like them covering Viagra, but not the birth control pill!!!
Love to hear from you!

i don't think my insurance pays for rogaine, but if yours does, i would definately ask why your laser or hair removal is not. i have heard that some will, or at least partially. sometimes if you have a note from your gyn or endo and heck a shrink might not help..
i have heard of some insurance co not wanting to pay for bcp, but if you push the fact that it is for your health, i would fight that one tooth and nail....
at least the pill is on the cheaper side of the scripts i am on.....
good luck and i would love to hear what happens!!!!!
Who is your insurance company? Please share the knowledge.

i'm in the process of getting insurance to pay. and i'm determined to make them pay. i'm not gettin laser, but i am currently undergoing electrolysis. at $60/visit....i'm running out of money. they HAVE to pay for this, but insurance co. feel that people don't know this and reject them. i'm in the appeal stage and once they reject this, i go for an exteranl review. it's a pain in the ass, but once they pay...it's all worth it!
