Yeah, see that's what I've always known/thought - is that you need at least 1500mg to do anything (but more often than not, 2000mg), which is why I'm concerned that it appears she just wants to leave me on the 500.
I understand that they usually gradually work up to it. I'm VERY familiar with the metformin drug. The thing is, it sounded like she had NO plans of increasing it for at least the next year. I *think* I remember her saying something like "well, we'll try this for a year or so and see if anything will happen." I DO NOT want to wait a whole more year just to see if 500mg is going to change anything.
I'm definitely going to ask if I can increase my dose at my next visit, but I think I'm going to ask if I should/could work right up to 1500 at least.
And yes, I understand that I'm only 26 and "have time" to find out what works. I get that. BUT, my dream is also to have four children. I wanted my first baby when I was 23/24, so I'm already at least 2 years behind. I'd prefer, if possible, to have most of my children when I'm young. But yes, people always tell those of us under 35ish that we "have lot of time." Thanks.
