Default Anyone had liver problems on MET

My doctor asked me to stop taking MET because of elevated liver enzymes- has anyone had this experience?

I'd like to know the answer to this too. My RE said my last showed that my liver enzymes were slightly elevated. After repeating them in 4 weeks, if they are still elevated she wants to take me off MET. I'm not sure how I feel about this. I can't say that I've noticed anything different in the last 3 months of taking 2000mg daily. No weight loss. No AF. Any thoughts?

Those who are dxd with either Liver or kidney dysfunction (or both) should NOT use Metformin/Glucophage- most of the major side effects, especially Lactic Acidosis (which is fatal in 50% of the diagnosed cases), are as a result of those with these dysfunctions taking met/gluc.

Be careful- and if you liver enzymes are elevated- follow the docs advice and discontinue.

Good Luck!
Aimee
