six months no bleeding now six months of bleeding/spoting... lots of clots but only one full month where i had to use a tampon.
my 'normal' periods when i had them were very heavy and clotty (six plus tampons a day)
i need to loose weight and we are ttc so bcp is out for me.
the doc has given me a perscription of progesterone to take but i am so unsure, i was on depo last year and the the six months nothing and six months bleeding started... and it was depo that helped me put on all the weight
i started taking yaz birth control and i've been bleeding for 19 days and still it hasn't stopped. it is extremely rare for me because normally my periods are two - three days. i'm thinking that maybe it could be something other then the pill where i started my period a week or so before it usually comes.
Thank GOD! I have been scouring every message board, including this one, trying to find out whats going on with me! Today is day 26 of my period with large clots and THANKFULLY! Its starting to slow to a spot after a few days of NPC. You would not believe the weight that has been lifted knowing that finally! I have found people going through this as well.
Jocelyn-So sorry about you bleeding every 14 days I hope everything gets fixed!

Hello...I havent been on here in some time but I am now bleeding for almost 2 months and I am so frustrated. I have been to my doctor and like everyone else I feel he is blowing me off..I have had an ultrasound and no fibroids or cystic ovaries. I do have all of the other PCOS symptoms and for Gods sake this non stop bleeding. He put me on Provera in hopes to stop it..it slowed down but is now back in full force. Literally everytime I go to the bathroom I want to cry because this is ridiculous. I honetly do not know what to do at this point
brandy although it sucks to know that you constantly bleeding, but it's wonderful to know I'm not the only one experiencing this. Although I've recently been diagnosed as having PCOS I believe I've had it ever since I went through puberty. I've never had a normal cycle...only having one about every 4 months or so, then I bleed for about 3-4 weeks. However, when I started on BC I gained approx 100lbs in around a year. Disgusting I know!! That in itself is frustrating, but then you start thinking about having kids and it's another story entirely. So I visited my doc...thinking she could help me get things straightened out. Her solution was a prescription of synthroid (for my thyroid) and metophormin (glucaphage...for the insulin resistance). She said between the two I should see my periods return and the weight start to come off. Well...she was right...kinda. My period came back full force. I bled for two months straight before throwing in the towel (they kept telling me it would take a while for my hormones to regulate). She then put me on Yaz but the bleeding wouldn't stop. So she put me on Yazmin...and still it wouldn't stop...so she added Estrogen to the mix. Finally I'd had enough...I quit taking everything. The bleeding went away, but so did the hope of getting pregnant. After doing some online research I decided to see a different doctor. She did an ultra sound and said the PCOS diagnoses was the best she could offer and put me back on the metophormin. Things were great for about three weeks. Now I've been bleeding for 4 going on 5 weeks and can't get it to stop. Any words of wisdom. I just about can't deal with this.
Thank you for your post Hopeful...I am home today because last night at 3am I was bleeding so bad, I thought I would need to go to hospital. I called my doctor this morning and all they said was "you have to let it run its course" REALLY ARE YOU FRIGGEN KIDDING ME. I asked them how long is this course is..the nurse said well give till Friday and then possibly doctor will do a D&C to remove the lining. I finally was told yesterday that the ultrasound showed my endometrium was 14 centimeters which is really thick, my question is why didnt the doctor tell me that and tell me that it would be a long process for it to shed Anyways it has really hindered my life, job and marriage. I really wish a doctor would diagnose me already. I have a friend who has been diagnosed and she suggested i leave the obgyn and seek a fertility doctors help, any thoughts?
I went 11 months with no period, then bled for 10 weeks straight, went to the hospital twice for hemmoraging. I ended up having a d&c and partial ablasion, started metformin and iron supplements immediately after, and have had regular cycles since. I also lost weight in between there, so I don't know if the weight loss, or metformin, or the d&c, or some combo of the three should get the credit. Best of luck to all of you struggling. It is frustrating, painful, and exhausting, and I feel for you!

Yes, I have. My last periods, i've bled for 90 days+. Then the bleeding stops for 30-45 days. Then it comes back full force for 90 days+ all over again. The bleeding is medium-heavy with clots but it has gotten a lot better than a year ago.
Back then, i would bleed for nearly 3 months straight, it would go away for a week, and then continue for another 2 months. It was horrible because it was super heavy bleeding. I would have to change my pad every 10 mins or so. I wasn't able to do anything without the blood and clots gushing out. I couldn't even go to work. I was buying the super jumbo pads and those still weren't enough. I nearly got to the point of buying adult diapers but i didn't. At that point, I went to see a doctor who put me on BCP. Those didn't work. So i went to get a pelvic u/s. There were no cysts in my ovaries but i was definately anemic and had hormonal imbalances. The dr also put me on iron and supplements, which is where i am now. I still haven't been diagnosed with PCOS but i'm getting blood work done next week to see if i do have PCOS or not. More than likely i do because everything i've read so far about it, i fit right into and my dr did mention the high possibility.
I can't wait to get this all straightened out because my husband and I want to start TTC after being married for 5 years.
