Anyone have breast pain and ovary-type pain when they started metformin?

Hello ladies, just wanted to ask a quick question. I started metformin less than a week ago (1500mg) and the last few days I've noticed a kind of mild shooting pain in my breasts (from the nipples into the tissue). Also, random twinges on both sides of my abdomen which I feel is my ovaries but I can't be sure. Does anyone else have this happen and did it correlate with a return of your cycles?? I rarely ovulate and/or get my period.

My breasts actually grew when I went on metformin and they were sore at the beginning. Now they are only sore at the end of my luteal phase. I also had some ovary pain, plus when I started to ovulate I definitely knew it. I think it's just the metformin trying to get everything going. I've been on metformin since May and 1700mg of it since June. I've ovulated every cycle I've had since then (I chart my bbt) and my cycles have become two to three weeks shorter. That's just my metformin story.

I hope what you are experiencing is a sign that it's getting your body into gear.
