I swear since the month of March i have gotten a headaches more than half the month.... But now it seems like they have gotten much worst, like they debilitate me completely- i will feel like absolute crap. The pain usually starts in my neck and all i want to do is lay down. It reacts ok to motrin and it numbs it for a while but a few hours later it comes back....
These are the worst headaches i have ever had, It affects my everyday life. I can't stand it.
Anyone else have this problem?
What did you do for it?
YES!! I do to have horrible headaches. Mine are like migraines and I just want to sleep in a quiet dark room. I take excedrine migraine or tension headache and those tend to work really well. I told my doctor but she isn't concerned about them at all. Apparently its "just in my head"

Oh, yes, I do, too! Although, I don't usually do anything about it unless it's so bad I can't do anything. I just take Tylenol or Advil.
Not any help, I know. It's just one other thing I've just "dealt" with... I don't say or do much about it because everyone was always telling me "there's always something wrong with me" so I just have kept quiet about everything I'm dealing w/.
I totally understand. I thought it was migraines, and I took medication but they actually made it worse! For about a month I was headache free until another month it seemed like every night I had one. No matter what I felt sick, almost nauseous because of these headaches.
Come to find out it's been brought on from the hypertension (high blood pressure) I have from PCOS. I didn't even know I had high blood pressure. My doctor was stunned at how high my blood pressure was and it was the cause of all the headaches.
Not saying that is what's wrong with you, but in the beginning when I was diagnosed with PCOS I had headaches because I wasn't eating every 4-5 hours when I was on Met for a full 3 months. You just never know how PCOS will effect your life sometimes. x.x
I think I'm beginning to learn just how PCOS does affect the whole body! It's amazing (not necessarily in a good way... just crazy what it does!) Things are just starting to make sense now...
Come to think of it, my blood pressure has been getting high, as well. Maybe you should check that out, jbenev5338. Maybe that could be a reason why? *Think I may check it out for myself, too, when I actually find a good doctor.*

High Blood Pressure has done a number on me, seemingly unrelated things are all related to my hypertension. Times when I thought I was having heart palpitations, issues with breathing, headaches, nausea, heartburn, and cuts that are super annoying and painful.
The last doctor I had didn't even check my blood pressure once, and I had gone to her 4 times. It's so important to find a good doctor when you are in pain all the time. You end up feeling less and less like yourself, everyday is a challenge when all you seemingly have to wake up to is pain. Someone who will listen to all your issues, and piece them together is so important!!!
i just recently had my blood pressure checked and it was good. I finally gave in after having excruciating pain last night and called the doc... She wrote me a precription and wants me to see a neurologist. I did have a CT scan like a month ago and everything was fine.
i've been having really bad headaches for the past few months... my husband took me to ER and they treated me as if i'm crazy... but the pain was really bad...on the right side of my head...constant pain...since they did a CT scan last october and everything was fine they just sent me home after prescribing pain killers....my blood pressure it's normal....i had no idea that these headaches had to do with PCOS.... i thought i was going crazy....headaches are better now... i just take advil right when the pain starts otherwise if i take it later it wont do anything....
Hi ladies, I haven't been on for a while so I'm kinda shy today. I started having horrible headaches about a month ago. This together with the fact that I have a lump at the back of my head on the right side, concerned us a bit since my family is known for cancer of all kinds. In the past week, I went to my internist, did an x-ray and was then sent to do a CT scan. The scan came out clear but my gynecologist is concerned about microadenomas in my pituitary gland. If I don't respond to higher doses of my treatment for PCOS soon, I'll have to do an MRI to rule out the possibility of the microadenomas. For a while there, I was wondering if the headaches are "all in my head". My fiance never doubted them for a minute since he saw what they were doing to me. I was starting to wonder if I had induced them myself. Right now, we are waiting to see if I respond to the medications, if not, then an MRI it is. Please don't limit yourselves to thinking it is only a consequence of the PCOS. Remember that it can also be a symptom of something else. I don't want to scare anyone but I just want you all to keep an open mind. It feels so good to be back on. I need your support now more than ever. Roxy p.s. the headaches give me terrible nausea but they might be associated to the fact that my cholesterol and triglycerides are terribly high!

Meds: Metformin: 1000mg/day A good bed Lots of sleep!
For the last couple of years I have them really badly like clockwork every month round the time I should be ovulating and just before AF (and at times throughout AF). I went on BCPs and the headaches stopped but after 6mths they started up again.
My headaches are on the front left side of my head and apparently it is caused by problems with the gallbladder??? hmmm

Seems like alot of us ladies have headaches on the right side. Thats odd because I've always had headaches on the right side. Does anyone have numbness on the right side? I do. I had a CT and MRI and all showed it was fine. I wonder if PCOS has anything to do with that. Good question for my visit soon to the specialist. Interesting!!

the pain was really bad...on the right side of my head...constant pain...
My headaches, which used to be weekly and would last from 2-4 days were also always on the right side of my head just above the eye, the bridge of my nose and the base of my skull. The pain would be so bad I would throw up, and forget even getting out of bed to go about normal life activities. I would feel it coming on from my shoulder and neck and would try to stop it there before it got to my head, I tried lots of different types of medication and Advil Extra strength migraine liquid gels seem to work the best. I've also bought a special pillow for side sleepers that supports my neck properly and if my neck and shoulder start acting up I use a hot water bottle which seems to help. When I was getting them more frequently the doc sent me for a CT, everything clear, and suggested doing some C-spine stretches, and seeing if it could also be a diet trigger, and to try massage therapy (which I want to, just don't have the money right now) The stretching has helped, I only get 1 or 2 a month now and they only last 1 or 2 days.
Wow, that rambled on, but hey hope it might help.

For the past week I have had a horrible headache everyday. I have been nauseous and light sensitive. I really feel like crawling into a dark cave. Usually I love to have sunlight in my house but this past week I have closed all of the curtains and it looks like a dungeon. My headaches are on the left side of my head towards the front. I have been on Metformin for about a year so maybe my hormones have decided to go crazy all of a sudden. Its just weird, but I'm glad I know I'm not the only one with migraines.
well i have had a headache consistently for 2 weeks
It started a few days before my period and has kept up. I will take something and get some temporary relief, my reg doc even gave me migraine meds and then it will be back full force with a vengence. It feels like someone inserts a knife in the back of my head on the right side and it is coming out of the front.
I don't know what to do anymore. I feel like i should just crawl in a hole
Years ago, I quit taking the pill because it was causing hormone induced migraines. I didn't know I had PCOS at the time, so getting off the pill caused a whole other set of problems. Now I am on Met and feel like everything is getting back on track, but the headaches are coming back too. My old panic RX for a migraine was to drink a non-diet Coke...not a good idea while on Met. I did it once while on an out-of-town business trip with severe results. It's frustrating to work on fixing one problem just to create another one...hang in there everyone.
