Default Anyone have Dr. who is "thin prejudiced"?

I've been seeing an endo who is supposedly the best in the area on PCOS patients. But I think she tends to look for the obvious, overweight=PCOS. As I am not overweight thanks to losing 30 lbs on WW and thanks to that have basically normal labs (except for slightly low T4 and slightly high Free Testosterone) seems to have decided to ignore my earlier GTT results pre weight loss and my transvaginal u/s with the "string of pearls" done 11/01 (when I had been thin for a while) and blame my anovulation on hypothyroid exclusively. Yet, I've read here that a lot of thin cysters with normal GTTs are on met even though the labs suggest nothing is needed. I am just wondering what those of you thin with normal labs and on met, drs' criteria were for putting you on it. Any suggestions on what I should say to my Dr. at my next visit? Should I trust her treatment of medicating me only with Synthroid?

Hi there,

I had an RE (who was on the cover of Newsweek for treating PCOS) say to me, without doing any tests or asking me anything, that I didn't have PCOS because I wasn't "fat or hairy." I left and went to a second RE who diagnosed me in three seconds after looking at my ultrasound and doing the blood tests. If you are having trouble with one doctor, I would highly suggest going to another.

Good luck,
FiFa
