Question Anyone have or had any Cervical Cancer with PCOS?

Right before i was Dx with PCOS my doctor found that i had pre cancer cells on my cervix that was in a moderate stage so i had to get my cervix frozen which was the most unbearable pain that i have ever felt in my life! And i was wondering if anyone else had or have this problem and if soo do you know if it could be from the PCOS or did the cells come back? Im just very curious my doctors dont seem to know! Thanks for any respnonse!

Hi! About 10 years ago I had an abnormal pap and I also had pre-cancerous cells. I had a biopsy and then cryosurgery and all of the 'bad' cells were frozen off. I am happy to say that I have not had another bad pap since.

In my case, I know it wasn't PCOS related. My pap also came back with HPV (human papillomavirus) which is known to cause cervical cancer.

I found a very interesting website about HPV & cervical cancer, here's an excerpt about it: "Cervical cancer is not considered to be hereditary. It's caused by certain types of a common virus, human papillomavirus (HPV)."

The website is: www.tell-someone.com

I hope this was helpful to you!

When I was in my teens I had a few paps that were abnormal. Since I was young and stupid I never had it treated till years later when it had began to develop into cancerous cells. I had a procedure called LEEP that cuts a cone shape out of your cervix...now that hurts alot.
My mom after I was dx decied to get a pap after years of not getting one and she too was diagnosed with cancer. I definately have PCOS but she does not and like LilyHoff mentioned it is related to the HPV so I doubt there is a connection between the two.

Me too, I had mine frozen off last year about 2 months before I got pg. As far I know PCOS and abnormal pap smears aren't related. And yeah it DOES hurt!!!! I found labour and birth easier lol

I also had a LEEP done. I have had 3 normal paps since then, yay! Cervical cancer or abnormal paps have nothing to do with PCOS (I do have PCOS though). Cervical cancer is caused by HPV (Human Papillomavirus) which is spread through sexual contact.

I'm so happy that you've had normal paps since your LEEP. After I had the cryosurgery I had paps every 3 months for a year and then went into a denial phase and neglected to get a pap for a few years. When I finally went back to the dr I was petrified and swore the test would come back positive for cervical cancer. Thank goodness it was perfect and all 3 of my last paps have been fine too. I have promised myself to never again skip my yearly pap, it is so very important.

I need to stop rambling and go to bed!

Good night!
Lily
