Anyone have initial breakout on YASMIN???

Should I put my mind at ease? I was looking forward to trying Yasmin for the hair, acne, etc. Especially the acne! It has been great for the hair in the mere 2 weeks I've been taking it. However, my face is breaking out more! Is this normal? Should I wait it out...I thought clear skin was finally in my grasp...

HI! Yasmin helped decrease my facial hair but I developed horrible cystic acne while taking it. I would get pimples that would literally last 2 weeks before subsiding! However, everyone is different. I know alot of women who say its cleared up their skin. Your break-out might just be an initial response to starting a new BCP and will clear up. Good luck!

I found that on both Diane-35 and my new pack of Orth-Tryic---whatever it is (see signature), I experienced 'breakouts'. I'm not on Yasmin, but this may still be applicable.

As my doctor explained to me, it might take a month for all the "excess" testosterone to come out of my body, and so the results with be a huge flux of a break-out. After that it begins to calm down. I wasn't on Diane very long, and at the time, was too depressed to think about looking at my face.

Fingers crossed that everything will clear up!

The testosternone excess coming out makes sense. I had an inkling that I should just wait and it will eventually be better. I feel very vain to be beating this around in my head so much.
