Question Anyone have normal LH/FSH but elevated DHEAS?

I recently had day 3 blood work done and my LH was 2.3 and FSH was 4.8. I do not have an elevated LH. I thought that an LH/FSH ration of 2 or 3:1 indicated PCOS???

My DHEAS was 256. (range 32-240) My doctor has ordered a CT of my adrenal glands to rule out an adrenal tumor.

I am so confused and I hope some of you wise cysters can help! Can I still have PCOS without the elevated LH? I was tested Insulin Resistant about 9 months ago and am on 2000mg met. I have tons of extra hair growth on chin and arms. I also used to have very irregular periods but since starting the met they have been very regular. I am also significantly overweight and have just started to notice hair thinning!(ugh!)

Is it common to have an elevated DHEAS but normal lh/fsh? Can PCOS be causing this elevated DHEAS or is it always something else, such as an adrenal tumor or cushings?

I really appreciate any responses!
Thanks!!
~Laura

I just got my lab work back, and am in the same boat. My DHEAS is 380, normal range is about 45-240. My hope for you and myself is that it is all PCOS related, and likely with our history this is the case. In regards to your LH/FSH, my understanding as a RN is that they usually follow a ratio pattern, but this changes throughout your cycle. PCOS'ers traditionally will have abnormal LH/FSH levels. Mine have always been out of range in the past and at this check they are normal...as is my insulin resistance that is usually abnormal. Check it with your endocrinologist/OB-GYN, depending on their familiarity with PCOS they should be able to interpret the meanings better.
