Default Anyone have a recepie for low carb dessert w/o artificial sweeteners??

I was hoping someone might have a receipe for a low or low-ish carb dessert (muffins, cookies) that doesn't contain artificial sweetners. Maybe using fruit to sweeten it??

I am pregnant & trying to avoid getting Gestational Diabetes by eating lower carb, but I have such an awful sweet tooth!!
And b/c I am pg I don't want to eat large amounts of artificial sweetners.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Sugar free jello with Reddi whip (aerosol whipped cream... very LOW carbs) has been my salvation...

kadb27: SF Jello has aspartame.

I am a splenda eater, but if you really want to avoid them and still eat things that are somewhat sweet, stick to fruit--especially berries. If you want to eat your strawberries with whipped cream, there is no reason you can't add a teaspoon (4.5g carb) of brown sugar to the cream before whipping.

As for using fruit as a sweetener, just avoid bottled or canned juices which are very bad for people with IR (the concentrations of fructose are too high).

You can make apple crisp or blueberry crisp without the sugar. Just put fruit on the bottom of a casserole dish and top it off with a mixture of rolled oats, bran, protein powder, butter and cinnamon. The fruit makes it sweet enough, especially if you use blueberries.
