Yes, I've taken that medication a few times. I've taken it for bv as well as a tooth abcess and I don't tolerate it too well, but then I am very sensitive to meds.
It should clear your infection though.
Have you started it yet?
Don't drink alcohol on it or for a few days after!!! They react badly.

Unless it was trich, in which case that would be a mystery

Apparently an infected man can have no symptoms but will continue to infect his partners until he is treated. Bacterial Vaginosis is just an overgrowth of bacteria in the vagina, which is similar to a yeast infection (overgrowth of yeast). Men generally do not have to be treated for BV.
Both are treated with Metro.
You might want to double check with your doctor to see if it's Trich or BV, to know whether or not your BF requires treatment.

The 1st time I got it I thought I was going to die it hurt so much. I thought it was a yeast infection and treated it as so but after the 7 days of cream it still was there. Thats when I went to the Doc and she told me I had a bacterial infection. I honestly think its linked to PCOS somehow. Fluctuation in hormones or something. Its miserable. Matter of fact, as Im typing this, Im suffering from one right now! Now that I've gotten so many, I kinda know some tricks to help it without medicine. Everytime I feel the slightest feeling of one coming on, I overdose on cranberry juice. That always seems to make it go away if I catch it on time. Oh and tons of water too. My Doc says it flushes out the bacteria. They're just miserable. This most recent one, doesnt seem to be going away fast enough, I might just have to go to the Doc. Darn it! =-(
