Default anyone have these depression symptoms?

I've had really terrible burning feeling in my knees and mostly in my left leg, tingly feeling in toes, and muscle spasms for a couple of weeks now. I saw a doctor who took xrays and found nothing. He's telling me now that it's probably a result of stress/anxiety/depression and I should meditate and take up yoga for relief. I'm willing to do that, BUT here's my worry. I've also been having a low ringing/buzzing sound in my ears and a lot of chills. I've suffered silently from depression/anxiety for years and now have had a terrible bout due to a miscarriage in January.

I worry that it's not just depression, that there is something terrible wrong with me, like multiple sclerosis (I looked up the symtoms). Has anyone else had these symptoms? I'm planning on trying to relieve stress to see if that makes a difference, but would love to hear from anyone.

Anxiety can mask itself in so many ways! When I feel anxious, I get all sorts of symptoms.

You could always go to another doctor for a second opinion. Did you have a virus or anything that seems to have sparked this off? If you are really worried I think it is worth going to see another doctor, otherwise try the meditation, relaxation techniques and see if it improves.

nani

hello there! i'm sorry you're having such a tough time of it at the moment. you sound like you're really going through it a bit.

i had a thought though when i read your post. have you been checked for tinnitus or menieres disease? tinnitus could be what is giving you the ringing in your ears...also menieres disease is closely related to tinnitus and can give you some of the other symptoms you describe. both my mum and my cousin suffer from tinnitus and menieres respectively...it may be worth asking the doc for advice about this.

hope you're ok anyway, take really good care

luv Kathryn

((hugs))

xx

Did he ever stop to think you make have a nerve problem problem? Because there is a HUGE nerve that runs down the leg and into the feet its call the sciatic nerve. If you are having those symptoms, it could be a disk pblm in your back and impingement of your nerve...did your doctor consider those options?? I would get a 2nd opinion.

I have had that before, I think the scaitic nerve is highly possible. Plus I have plantar fasciitis and mortens neuroma.

I myself have the wonderful hormonal struggle against depression and I can assure you, when things flare up, I get very depressed.

Hang in there...((((hugs))))
