Default Anyone have a treatment for back acne?

I dont really have a problem with acne anywhere but on my back. Occasionally I get a couple on my face if and when I menstruate. That is few and far between but my back is a different story. I have had it for years and I hate it because I am too embarrassed to go swimming or anything. Also, I hate for my husband to see it. I will never forget my senior prom. The back of my dress went down to the middle of my back but my hair was down. My boyfriend/prom date put his hand on my back and he freaked out. Needless to say he broke up with me and told everyone!!! Not my finest hour. I have been so self concious since then and that was 15 yrs ago. Hopefully someone here might have some remedies.
Thanks.

Here in the Uk there is a store called Lush which is like the Body Shop, if you have that there. This product is great

http://www.lush.co.uk/shop/index.php...roducts_id=219

it's like choc mint ice cream and dh and i use it on our backs.

I had really bad acne on my back and chest, I tried EVERYTHING and the only thing that ever cleared it up was accutane. I haven't had a problem since and that was 10 years ago. However, I think it is a last resort treatment if all else fails.

Polly-PCOS,
I went to the website and it is approximately $50 US to have it shipped to me. I just wanted to check with you and see what the size of the product is. Also I saw that you mentioned the Body Shop, do you know if they have something comparable to this product?
Thanks,
Melanie

Neutrogena body scrub and then instead of lotion, put an acne clearing face medication on your body after you dry off - like a Clearasil, or try some of Neutrogena's or Johnson-Johnson clean and clear moisturizer on your back (or have someoen help you do it).

I had horrible acne on my face when I was younger and I took accutane which caused other problems so I had to quit taking it. But, it seemed to help while I was on it. Other than that I've used topical treatments. BCP also seem to help if that's something you are interested in.

However, since I've started taking Met I've been getting acne on my chest and back. Of course my husband sees it and then wants to go and pop them! It's embarassing not to mention it hurts when you are minding your own business and someone comes up and tries to pop a zit on your back! So believe me I can understand the embarassment.

But, what I have found works and my doctor suggested it was to make sure that you keep the area clean and when you do shower use a loofa and some medicated soap. This will wisk away the dead skin cells that clog the pores. I've found this to be helping lately. Plus it helps your skin all over!

Good luck!

Melanie, I have pmd you, that is too much to pay for the shopping- nearly £25 shipping when the product costs £5. The body shop has some great stuff in their T Tree range eg
http://www.thebodyshop.com/bodyshop/...egoryId=search
and the prices look good too

Melanie, did you check Lush's US site for shipping costs or was it the UK site? Here's the US product link: http://usa.lush.com/cgi-bin/lushdb/4...Skincare:upd=y
$50 is a scary amount for shipping!

I like Lush products, but haven't tried this particular one. I'll have to keep it in mind.

Hi,
Thanks so much for letting me know about the US site. I was on the UK site before. I am definitely going to order this. The shipping price on the US site is $7.96 for UPS ground delivery.

Darn I was thinking I could come to the US, open a Lush franchise and make my fortune! Lush are one of the top 100 employers in the UK for the way they treat their staff.

Polly,
Does Lush have products for your face as well? If so do you use them?
Thanks

Everyone here has been talking all about Lush. I've never heard of it before but I think I'm going to have to check it out. Thanks all!
