Lightbulb anyone heard anything about lavender oil?

Hi,

I don't know if it is just coincidence or there is something to it. My period has never been normal, maybe one every 3-6 months and if it went any longer I would take something to bring one on. I am 37, so we are talking a long time with abnormal periods. Well, after I had my third child, while I was breastfeeding, I started getting normal periods! It was like clockwork every month. I thought it was the breastfeeding, but when I stopped, the periods continued to be very regular. This continued for a few years and then stopped for six or so months. The last three months my period has been regular again. The only thing I can think of that coincides with having regular periods is the body soap I have been using! I started using Lavender body soap years ago and the kind that I was using was discontinued earlier this year, so I switched to a berry kind. This was the six to eight months of not having a period. About 4 months ago I found another body soap with lavender that I liked and since then I have had three regular periods, each 5 weeks apart. I would like to know if anyone knows anything about Lavender oil and if it could be helping to regulate my period or if it is just a strange coincidence?

Hi
I've heard stuff about lavender. Apparently there have been cases where boys who use lavender products on a regular basis have started growing breast tissue. Lavender is supposed to be a very potent blocker of male hormones and boosts the female ones. I forget where I read this article but I'll try and find it again and if I do I'll post a link. In the meantime I'm going to try and use more lavender products and see if it helps with any of my symps! Good job I love the smell of it!!! Take care xx

Ok here's the link to the article about lavender:

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/health/6318043.stm

if you type in lavender and anti androgen into a search engine you can find alot of more detailed info.

Hope that helps xx
