Question Anyone here take Zoloft? I have questions...

Hey ladies.. it's been awhile since I posted here. I have been busy with personal issues.

I recently was prescribed zoloft for PPD and I was wondering if anyone has taken it and what the side effects are?

I worry about taking a pill that will cause weight gain (I have heard Paxil is one). I am already dealing with weight issues from the PCOS and don't want add to that.

Thanks for any and all your help!
Brenda

Zoloft is one of the ones I haven't used. So, I don't have any personal info, but I wanted to wish you well. Most SSRI's have pretty much the same side effects, and very few people have all of them. They usually don't last too long, but if you find you're uncomfortable with one of them, or if you do not start to feel better call your Dr. You can do a search for zoloft on Web Md to find out more specific information on the side effects.

Bebe,
I took Zoloft for about 10 years (I'm not joking!). It may have helped the ppd, but killed my libido, and made it really hard to lose weight. Two things my doctor did not tell me at first. It does have fewer side effects than many SSRIs, and the weight problem takes a while to develop. So, if you are on it for only about a year you may be OK with the weight. The libido problem seems to start once you reach a theraputic dose. Feel better soon.

I've been taking Zoloft for about 3-4 years now. It doesn't affect my sex drive at all...I still have a higher drive than DH.
It hasn't made me gain weight, Paxil was the one that did that. GRRRR....
Anyway I haven't noticed any bad side effects at all.

I had no sex drive and problems achieving orgasm. Weight was fine but also experienced jaw clenching and high prolactin. Just remmember everyone is diferent, although it is good to hear of others experience. Am now trying avanza which I think is making me a psycho evil *****! Oh well back to the drawing board!

I haven't had any side effects from Zoloft . I have been taking it for over 2yrs. No weight gain and it hasn't bother me sexually either. But like everyone else said, each person can react differently to a med. Just watch for any side effects and talk to your doctor about it.
