Were any of you ladies hesitant to send a 1300.00 chech in the mail along with an application for a home study? Maybe I'm just being crazy or paranoid but I keep thinking what if I send the money and never hear from them! They said if I send an extra $200.00 I can have the home study expedited and complete in 30 days!!!!!!!!!!!!! Do you beleive this is possible?
I suppose it might be possible, depending on the requirements of your state. Here in Illinois we have to go through a nation wide background check. That takes longer than 30 days to get the results back. I don't see any reason why the visits couldn't be done that soon though.

We actually paid our social worker the day she started the homestudy and had gone to an orientation. You could always do some checking into the agency first. Who are they? I'd be happy to ask some of my seasoned adoption professional friends.

One more thing... our search didn't have to wait until we had the homestudy completed. According to our agency at least. The only reason why you would want to expedite it is if you had a match that was due before the study was completed.

The home study agency is Adoptions by Gentle Care and I just wanted to get the home study expedited to make things go a little faster as far as how long between visits would take them.
