Did anyone "overcome" hairloss by exercising? I started exercising recently and while I think I already see a slight improvement in my complexion it's way too early to tell whether my hair loss is improving. So I was hoping someone would want to share her experience (especially the success stories) but really, any cyster's experience would be more than welcome. I just want to know what is realistic for me to expect..

You totally read my mind, I have been wondering the exact same thing but was way too chicken to ask!
One thing I have noticed that is if I do not get any exercise it seems like I comb out more hair before my shower in the morning. I haven't taken too many days off from exercise, so it may be a total coincidence, but I am really hoping that my lifestyle changes are slowing it down (too scared to hope for "stopping it" but I'm sure you know that's what I really mean!)
Some days I am optimistic and think "something HAS to help, right?" and some days I think "wonder how it will feel to look in the mirror in less than a year and realize it's time to put on a wig". Sigh.
I looked through a lot of the diet and exercise board and I am almost positive a couple of people mentioned that their change in diet and exercise resulted in their hair becoming thicker, but darned if I remember who.

God five years i have thought the exact same thoughts as the above some days I am ok with this and my fake hair other days (today being one) I wanted to stay in bed or throw myself under the nearest tube I cannot bear this nightmare. it is truly horrific ... at least with the faical hair you can zap it out and I found that all the drugs I am onfor hair loss have done wonders for the excess hair but there is nothign helping me wiht this bit of the condition
Hang in there

I was diagnosed with PCOS about 2 months ago, after losing about 50% of the hair on the top of my head. I started Met (on 1500 now), and this in combination with a LOW CARB / HIGH PROTEIN diet and cardio / strengh training (3 or 4 times a week, for 30 minutes, but VERY intensive). Now, I think I've stopped shedding, it's hard to tell as I've never counted the hairs or anything... but... this morning I noticed REGROWTH! I thought that I was gowing crazy, or that it was breakage, but after looking and looking and looking.... I'm 100% sure, it's NEW HAIR! They're about 1-2 centimeters long, so I guess they started to grow about 1-2 months ago, when I started my regime.....
I don't know if it's the exercise, or the diet, or the Met, but whatever it is I'm doing, it seems to work. So there's hope. Oh, and my acné cleared up. And I lost 5 kilo. Yeey.
Soooo, if you exersice, make sure it's very intensive. Almost to the point that you feels like vomitting. Push yourself!

i would agree with this. It's rarely just 'one' thing that helps to reduce hair loss. Most cysters who have slowed it down typically do a combination of therapies (which include improved nutrition and regular exercise).

While I agree that most people can workout harder than they are, I don't agree with the idea of working out to the point of nausea
