Anyone know about adoption from Hawaii?

Do they allow families from other states to foster and adopt their children? I've searched online and can't find much info about it.

I live in Hawaii. Are you talking about a state adoption? If so, then yes, they do, but strong preference is first given to family members and then to people in the state. If you are doing a private adoption, then the BM can choose a family who lives anywhere. One thing about adopting in Hawaii- there aren't alot of children who are adopted outside of their family. The family units are set up to take in relative's children if the relative isn't able to/has been court ordered not to parent the child.

Just curious- why are you thinking about adopting from Hawaii? Is it just one of several places you are looking at?

Just because a higher percentage of the population is Filipino, Chinese, Japanese or some variation of that. My husband is Filipino, that's why I was interested.
