I would love to speak to anybody who lives anywhere near me in Halifax. It would be nice to know somebody locally who wanted to share experiences etc.
Also I am hoping to look at the effectiveness of Reiki on dealing with p.c.o.s and would like to find volunteers to have Reiki treatments (its a hard life I know!)
I'm near York. I'm a Reiki practitioner too (Usui II and Celtic Reiki Master) although I only practice on myself and my kids/pets.
Have to say it's been a case of 'physician heal thyself' with me - so busy using Reiki on the others, then when they don't need it, forget it for ages - and overlooked Reiki-ing for PCOS. Then I had a bad stall, dieting and exercising hard but not an ounce's weight loss since Xmas Eve. Suddenly remembered oh yes, I do Reiki don't I! Reiki'ed myself (Usui), daily for past week. Lost 3lbs! I think it's helpful in terms of 'the dragon at the door' - that psychological part of you blocking the good thing because it's kind of scary (weight loss, improving symptoms etc). Anyway that so far is my lone experiment with Reiki for PCOS and all I can say is - it seems to be working!
I also visualised the number on the scale I wanted by the end of the week (bearing in mind no weight loss whatsoever for 5 or 6 weeks) - and actually exceeded it. I think visualisation is another good tool!
The weight loss is the thing I'm concentrating on as I know from past experience, if that's under control, so are more of my symptoms.
What do you think about trying distant Reiki for volunteers? I'd be curious to see if that helps...

I think that distant Reiki will definitely help. I send a lot distantly and find it very effective. I may even offer this in the future.
I have found from experience that if you want to experience the deeper level healings (for yourself), then it is best to heal yourself daily, at least once. If I have time, I usually do two healings a day.
I don't know if you do all over healings for yourself, but I usually just concentrate on the specific area I want to work on, whether it is a physical or emotional matter and just heal that.
Good luck with your healing and your weight loss. (as for the moment, I can't stop eating chocolate, I will have to do some healing for the addiction)
Donna - The best cure for chocolate addiction I know is Paul McKenna's book and CD, 'I Can Make You Thin'. He has 2 techniques - one of which will put you off eating it for life, the other you can use if you want to reduce how much you eat! I still eat chockie but I can content myself with a small 20g bar of Green & Blacks now.
I don't Reiki my whole body daily, but since last week I've done the throat area as I read that was recommended for weight loss, throat and heart together and my stomach, using one symbol in particular. I saw on another thread you do Kundalini Reiki - where can you learn that? I know someone that does Karuna Reiki, but don't know about Kundalini Reikii. How does it differ from Usui? Also, when you start a healing, do you consciously use one form of Reiki or another? I found that if I just leave it, and let the Reiki decide I either get one or t'other, so I never make conscious decisions. As Celtic Reiki starts from the ground up, you can tell which is it pretty straightforwardly. I'm always curious about people who have more than one sort of Reiki!
Love and Light!

I too am a Green and Blacks fan, as I am vegan, there's not much chocolate I can eat. I get mad with myself because I give it up for months and then like an addict, I might have one small piece and then the addiction kicks in again. I do have some great techniques that I learned on Master level for addictions so I am going to ask my partner to try them on me!
I use my intuition a lot with Reiki. When I treat somebody else, I intuitively know what freqeuncy of energy to use to treat the problem they have. When I treat myself, I usually decide what I want to treat before I start, I find that this is then more effective as I can use intention and visualisation to direct the energy.
I have just become a Kundalini Reiki Master last week. In my humble opinion, it is a very simple form of Reiki discovered or "channelled" by a man called Ole Gabrielson. I have no doubt it can be useful, however, I do prefer Usui Reiki (but that's just me). I can certainly feel the energies involved, I just find Usui Reiki more effective. I do however have limited experience with Kundalini Reiki so far. It is very simple to learn and there are very few course notes needed.
I don't think I can do it justice in this post, why not look at a couple of websites (the info tends to be the same on all of them, unlike Usui Reiki) and see what you think. If you are interested, I could attune you if you like. The attunements are all done distantly and you are able to choose the time when you would like them.
Well i live in sunderland, but i used to live in Mirfield not far from you in Halifax. And unfortunately my parents have just moved away too, so couldn't even pop over on a social!
