Scarlet, have you found anyone? I have found a reproductive gyny that I really like. he's a really nice guy who works for the Reproductive Clinic at Guy's Hospital. His name is Dr. Khalaf. By the time I got to him, I had pretty much self educated myself concerning PCOS and Dr. Khalaf has been mainly instrumental in helping me get metformin and being very supportive about WHEN I decide I want to get pregnant, that he has no concerns that we'll be able to do so. Pregnancy is his main job, the PCOS is a sideline to it.
My GP is everything but supportive, in fact, he's rather infuriating. Its been a battle to get him to refer me to Dr Khalaf in the first place and now I have to see him every 2 months to get a refill on my prescription of Metformin and he can't understand why I'm still on it and insists that if I'm going to get pregnant, I must come off it. If anyone has a good supportive empowering GP who understands PCOS, I'd love to have their details. |
