Default Anyone in need of Avandia?

I got a prescription for this a week ago...and now I can't use it. I paid $11 and only used one pill. So I am not sure how much it will cost to send...so does anyone need Avandia? Let me know!!!!!!

I'm curious why you couldn't take it. I am trying it and having good luck with it but still worry about problems associated with the drug.

So what is avandia doing for you? I took it one day and had the same side effect when i was taking the avandamet. Mind you i was still taking my metformin with this pill. I had a upset stomach.

I may take it again...but maybe later down the road.

Hey Cathy,

I tried to PM you but it doesn't give me that option. I then tried IM but I didn't catch you in time. You might want to do a search re: trading meds on the boards. I think Kat posted something not too long ago.

Cathy,

I apologize. I shouldn't have made my earlier post. I realized after re-reading it was inappropriate. I shouldn't have stuck my nose where it didn't belong.

My sincerest apologies.....

I have been taking Avandia for 30 days now. I have had no side affects with it. I actually feel better than before. I previously took bc pills for years as well as clomid for infertility. I have never taken gluc. So far I can say I have lost 5 pounds. Probably water weight since I feel less bloated. I am in normal weight range. I have no stomach upset or gastro. issues with this. I do have slight IBS so that was a relief! My insulin was 9 and my sugar was 82 before starting Avandia. My cholest. was high. I am looking forward to seeing if these change. I am watching my skin and hair to hopefully see improvements. Too soon to tell. I am due for AF in 1 week. We will see if I get this, that is the true test for me. I never get AF without help. I'll update you as I continue. Best wishes!
Christine

I took avandia for about 8 months and was put on Glucophage and took both at the same time for a week. The only side effect I had was that my period started in the middle of BCP pack.

Question Avandia or Met/Gluc?

I'm curious. I'm going to the doc on Thursday, and just in case, I'm wondering - do you guys prefer Avandia or Gluc? I thought they did the same thing, but I noticed that some of you are taking both at the same time. Why?

I'm new to all of this medication stuff, and the side effects of Gluc are scary. Help me out!

GLuc. and avandia or actos work differently but can both help IR. Some people take both, this works well for type II diabetes. My father takes both. I can't give you all the medical information as I am new to the Avandia too.

My dr. does not use gluc. with thin women with pcos who are not trying to conceive. Therefore, I was not offered gluc. only avandia. I am done having my children so a class c medication is O.K. for me. I may be IR my insulin was 9 and sugar was low. We are trying Avandia to see how it works. I have always taken bc PIlls for PCOS and wanted to experiment a little.

The Avandia has very few side affects. The only one I have had so far, 33 days into this, is weight loss. Possibly water weight since I also stopped the pill. I do feel like my metabolism has picked up though and I am less tired in the afternoon and have more stamina. Absolutely NO stomach or gastric issues. As my RE put it. Avandia works, why mess with the gluc. stomach issues.
So.., even though most women on here are on gluc. I am trying Avandia and feel a little lost. So far so good though.

I'm starting Avandia tonite. My bloodwork came back showing my insulin level at 19. I tried Gluc on and off for 5 years and never could handle the nasty side effects (nausea, vomiting, light headedness, abdominal pain). I was on Actos for about 5 months and never had one side effect. I also never ovulated on the drug. I would have stayed with Actos except for the expense. I currently don't have insurance, and a 30 day supply was close to $200. The Avandia is only costing me $90. That's at least doable.

I'm glad to hear there aren't many nasty side effects with Avandia. I hope it works for me!

Good luck with the Avandia. Please share your experiences with us here. There aren't many of us on it and it's always great to get updates, good or bad!
