I was put on Armour Thyroid (120mg) about 1 month ago, and am also on a BHRT Estrogen and now prometrium to help me have my cycle. Anyway -- one of the issues I've had is that when I try to workout now, my heart rate increases, but I don't sweat very easily. It takes almost 45 minutes of working out hard for me to finally sweat. When I do sweat, I feel good, but before that I feel awful and it's so hard for me to push through. I'll get 'clammy', but not actually break out in a sweat.
Anyone else have this?
I've never sweated a lot, but it seems that it's gotten worse this fall and when I was recently diagnosed with PCOS and hypothyroidism, I asked my doc about this and he said it was probably do to the thyroid issues and the body's inability to regulate the temp and until this all gets worked out, I'll just have to make sure I put water on my neck or workout near a fan or whatever to keep my body cooled off.
Just curious if anyone else has had this because it's so frustrating!
I have never asked my doctor about this but I have never been able to sweat a lot either. If it is hot outside I can not work out, only when it's cold. I was only reciently dx'd with hypothyroid, I have had pcos for many years. It makes sense they would be linked...

My Doctor is starting me on Synthroid this month because my thyroid test was low. I also do not sweat. I get hot when I workout but never break a sweat. Weird! I didn't know it was connected. I am def. going to ask my RE.

I also am taking Synthroid ...I have hyperthyroidism,Pcos and Insulin Resistance. I noticed I don't sweat that much....I know I have a quiet life but when I do workout or work around and outside the house I never sweat!
There is no doubt your lack of sweating is related to having hypothyroidism; it's a symptom. Once your TSH lowers, you'll sweat more.
