Red face Anyone out there controlling diabetes with just diet alone?

Hello i was diagnosed with type II a year ago. i am thin, but my symptoms include: acne, some hair on my neck/chin, irregular periods, diabetes.

i am not into taking drugs long term, and am trying to control my diabetes w/diet and exercise. when i was pregnant i had to take insulin, but have since discontinued that and am back to just diet alone.
i thought about doing the IR diet, and it seems to make sense...i printed off some food ideas from the internet.
is there anyone out there that has had success with just diet and exercise? care to share your experiences and success stories? before getting pregnant, i was 136lbs and eating very little carbs and running 4-5x a week. i had my sugars pretty regulated, but not perfect.
i need to get back into the routine. my baby is only 3 months old and i am breastfeeding, so my exercise routine is not what i would like it to be yet.
let me hear some positive replies ! thanks!!

My type 2 is being treated with diet alone at the moment, I am in the UK and I am not happy with this at all, first off I had to wait 4 months for a confirmation in which time I changed my diet and dropped 22lbs to avoid being diabetic but it did not work so it was confirmed I was in September, and now I have to wait till December to have bloods checked again, if no change then they will try tablet control, I think I need this now, but I am not in the mood to argue with the doctors...

My diet is going okay now, no blips but my BS are still higher than they should be, fasting and after meals the worse...
