Question Anyone's depression decreased w/ metformin?

If anyone's depression was decreased with Metformin/Glucaphage please let me know. If so, how long have you been taking it and are you on any other medications? Has it improved or worsened your depression?

Thank you

Saathi...

I started taking avandamet (hal;f avandia and half met) about 3 months ago. I noticed within 2-3 days after starting it that my depression lifted tremendously. I still have my bad days...but comparitively...they're nothing...

I'm also taking synthroid for my hashis...

Take care!!!

avandamet...cool. I didn't even know there was such a thing. I wonder if that would help with with hypoglycemia. DD takes 1000 gluc was going up to 1500 but her blood glucose is staying way too low with it. I'll have her check into it. Thanks for the info.
But, for the original poster....sorry I was a little excited there. DD wasn't so much depressed as had very wild mood swings. When she's on gluc, it is a lot better. I can tell if she hasn't been taking it like she's spose to because she becomes really quiet and drawn inward. So, I would guess that is a type of depression and the gluc helps her a lot.

I noticed that my depression got better on the met...the XR I am really starting to wonder...but I was under a lot of stress. So, now I'm just watching. Don't know if this helped ou much or not.

I have actually been a lot LESS depressed since I started the Met. I got my times where I burst into tears but I think moreso just becasue we still aren't preggie. Otherwise... life isn't too bad anymore.
