I have depression (well, that's putting it mildly!) and bcp's have never really affected it one way or another. I'll be trying Yasmin next week and was wondering, has anyone's mood IMPROVED on it? I know sometimes people's moods go downhill on BCP's, just wondering if it's HELPED anyone in that respect. I hope it makes me less nauseous than Diane 35 at any rate.

-Main symptoms: weight gain (especially annoying in mid-section/abdomen), high androgens, very low progesterone, no periods unless on OC
-fortunate to have very good bp, blood sugar, cholesterol, etc., no hirsutism.
yep, yasmin's improved my depression tremendously (along w/ prozac/wellbutrin), and has also helped with weight loss. But that's just my personal experience; keep in mind that everyone reacts to different BCP's differently, so what's right for one person might not be right for another person. But it's definitely worth a shot. Good luck, and please keep us posted!
Before I started taking yasmin I was a wreck. I was fighting with people, one minute I was thinking of suicide, and the next I was laughing my butt off for no reason, I was paranoid all the time, I hated myself etc etc etc.... After I started taking yasmin, I finally felt "normal" after years of crazyness. Yasmin really helped me and I really hope it'll help you too

How long did it take? I've been feeling very low the past few days, have only been on Yasmin for 3 so I know it's not that. Blech. Haven't felt good in a loooooooooong time.

I also have depression and BCPs all seem to make it worse. I've often avoided them for that reason. But I think I have finally come to accept that it's like I am moody and miserable 1/2 the time if not on BCPs and 3/4 the time if I am on BCPs... so I have recently gona back on antidepressants... prozac first which works SO well for me but does terrible things to my, umm, sexual function... now I am on welbutrin and it seems to be working well for me. I've felt really really good this last week or so. I've gotten a ton of yard and house work done, started shaving my legs again, DH and I actually had sex the other night... (I think no sex drive is a BIG depression thing for me...)
(Oh and I am responding to this because I am on Yasmin... )
