Stacey, the first time I went to see her was in May 2003. I had been diagnosed with PCOS in October 2002 by my family doctor, but she didn't tell me anything about met etc. Dr. Williams put me on 1500mg metformin right away. She then asked me to chart my cycles for 6 months to see if I ovulated. She also scheduled an HSG for me. When I didn't ovulate for 6 months, she put me on 2000mg, which worked better for me. Then we did an IUI cycle with clomid in February (because we are also dealing with a male factor). I o'd and got pregnant, but clomid thinned my lining so I miscarried a week later. I then took a break for 2 months and we did two more IUI cycles with 2.5mg letrozole. Each time I had one follicle and everything looked great, but I didn't get pregnant. I'm currently on a break cycle, but in September, we will be doing another IUI/letrozole cycle.
She's a great doctor and has a great bedside manner. Everyone else at the clinic is so nice, it makes all these fertility treatments a pleasure!
Let me know if you have any more questions...
