hi ya,

not sure if it qualifies as the south or south east, but i'm in bedfordshire.

i noticed you're having a cyst drained. how long was it there? i ask because i just got a few from my last injectable cycle and so have to take this cycle off to let them shrink down. do you think they will, as doc hasn't put me on bcp?

hoping your surgery goes well. i also noticed you're only on 1000mg met. i'm sure you have also read here that 1500mg seems to be the minimum effective dose in most cases. i didn't know that for years and have just this year increased from 1000 to 1500 to current 2000mg.

take care and stay in touch.

Thanks for your replys guys,

I'm from a town in North Hertfordshire called Hitchin, it's very close to the Bedfordshire border.

I haven't heard of the place in Essex, although if its not far from Southend it's only an hour away.

I'm not sure what mg of Metformin I'm starting on, I won't find out until after my opp.

Nice to hear from you all.

And keep in touch.

girls it is fantastic to see some more uk sisters. i actually live in luton, bedforshire which isn't far from hitchin or milton keynes. i lived in milton keynes for three years.

it would interesting to know if and where you all are getting any treatment ,as i am considering going private in the near future. currently i'm under the care of the local gyn consultant at the
L&D hospital.

I'm in London Am hoping to see a gyn/ob in October (if I go now my private insurance will double charge me for the year's excess as it starts in October!).

Lori, can't wait for you to move here Look forward to meeting you!

Gunner-babe - you live near a place my husband and I were thinking of buying, Letchworth Garden City. Is it nice around there? It still seems affordable compared to London!

Just out of curiousity, what kinds of diets are you guys on?

Take care,

Eloise

The only diet thats ever worked for me is the starvation diet and Im serious.

I have had an ovarian wedge section and along with my gyne am diarising my symptoms for the next 6 months to see which route we take next.

Have tried met didnt make any difference just made me feel sick and gave me the runs!

i'm not any diet. just upped my met to 2000mg and that is a diet in and of itself given all the excersice i get running to the loo.

blondie: that's great to hear you have 15 year old twins. how are you feeling after the wedge surgery? my gp when i lived in milton keynes suggested it to me but 5 years ago i wasn't ready to do it.

now the most i'll consider other than ivf/iui/art is ovarian diathermy, i'm on a break cycle now due to cysts from my last injectable cycle.

i just kinda discovered this thread...i'm usually on the ttc thread...but this is great!

Default Hi

I had the ovarian wedge section over nearly 2 years ago so the effects have now worn off.

Im now considering having my right ovary removed as that also had a large cyst in it as well as the pcos cysts and it would appear that's the one giving me the problems as I get pain on the right hand side mid cycle. I may just have the whole lot out as Ive now had enough!!!!!

My gyne is Mr Lynch and he is very good and understanding and will try me on anything I like...what a star!

It's great to see hear from you all.

Letchworth is a very nice place, although the town doesn't have a huge amount to offer. But everything is so close by I don't think it bothers anyone.

I was on a lighterlife diet before I was diagnosed with PCOS. I lost 6 stone!

The diet was basically food packs (no normal food allowed) and 4 litres of water a day minimum. (NOT EASY)

It was only when I started eating proper food (not huge amounts) that I ballooned again , which I have since found out is due to PCOS (Great!!)

I'm due to start Metformin at the end of September, and fingers crossed I can hopefully start losing weight again.

What with the weight and the excess facial hair you've got to have a strong personality to overcome the confidence problems!!!!

Speak to you all soon,
