I was doing a search on SC looking for info about xenical and noticed there had been several UK cysters trying it...Just wondering if you still are on it and what your thoughts are?
I am feeling increasingly more desperate about my weight...I go to Slimming World, but am stuck and have been for a while...I think I am doing all the right things but still feel as fat as ever...AHHHHHHH!!!!!
Ok prozac time!! LOL

I tried it once a while back and it didnt help me. Basically it takes the fat out of what you eat and sends it out through your poop. Sorry to be disgusting but thats what it does. I was constantly on the toilet and if you work in an office can be a bit of a bind. The only thing it did do was make you not want to eat any fat cos of the toilet thing I dont think I lost any weight if I did it wasnt that I noticed. I stopped taking it but it may work for some. Sorry I couldnt be a bit more positive but someone else may have had a good experience with it, and its good to have all the facts!
Hi iv tried it but didnt stay on it long as i was always running to the loo
and im not always able to do that in the job i do , sorry tmi
im also on the slimming world diet and have just lost 21lb, can you speak to the consultant and see if she can maybe give you some advice or maybe you could start writting a food diary that sometimes helps
goodluck and takecare bev

Hi,
I haven't tried xenical, so I am sorry for butting in but I just wanted to tell you about the new deit I am trying, maybe you will like to try it.
For years i have dieted, lost a bit then gained a bit then over the years have ended up bigger than i started, I have done ww, slimming world and even tried some appitite suppressants and although i have stuck to them ridgedly, i never lost what i needed to or stuck to it long enough. Last week i was browsing the net and i saw a new book by Paul McKenna "I can make you thin". I know it sounds corny and i don't normally fall for all that stuff but i thought well i might as well give it a go.
I read the book in a day and everything seemed to make sense, it is a completly different approach based on your imagination of food and self consious. It comes with a cd which you should try and listen to each day. the book has exercises in it to help you change your attitude around food, it is hard to explain but there are loads of reviews on Amazon.co.uk about it and everyone has seemed to do well.
I did feel different when i read the book and once i listened to the cd i felt so motivated to excersie and eat better. Paul McKenna's ideas are that you should stop dieting! as this makes you want all the things you can't have and you should listen to your body, he reckons your body over time if you help it will balance it's own diet and that bad eating habits are only learned behaivour which we can reprogramme.
I suppose only time will tell how good this book actually is, but it really has given me a different more positive outlook on life, i have realised that i don't have to be controlled around food.
Sorry to go on a bit but i wish someone had told me about this book earlier, just thought it might be helpful to you, like i said there are loads of reviews at amazon about it. Just hope it works for me longer than slimmming world or ww, fingers crossed.
Good luck with whatever you decide
Clara x

I tried Xenical last year. I wasnt too bad with running to the toilet part...It was just normal for me.
I was only on a month and its cost me over €100 to buy it. And to be honest it was not worth that. To pay that much for a drug to help me lose weight then I would have expected to lose a lot more than the 3/4 pounds I lost that month.
