Hi, a friend of mine and I are planning to move to Sudbury this summer. I have never been there before. Currently we live in Thunder Bay. What areas are the best to live in? What areas are the worst? What type of fitness centers do they have there? And any other useful information I would need . This will be my first time moving out of my home town which is a bit scary and exciting at the same time. Thanks for you help,

Hello there- I am from Sudbury. There are definately some areas that u would not want to live in. Are u buying a house or renting? We have some gyms around. We just opened a Good Life in the south end of the city. Areas of town I would avoid are- Donavan area, Downtown, and Flour Mill. Stick to New Sudbury, Minnow Lake (thats where I live), South End (pricey) or some parts of the West End. We also have lots of smaller surrounding towns.

We are thinking about renting an apartment. Do you know of any good apartments available? My friend has a job offer at a place on Barrydown Road.
What street is the good life gym on? Does it have a swimming pool?

Barrydowne road has a whole bunch of apartment buildings there. Very close to all shopping. Where is she going to work? The Good Life Gym is a litrle further South in the city. Not very close. There are other gyms. We have a YMCA, it has a pool. Not sure about Good Life. I could get the # of the apartment buildings, most of them are owned by the same company.

here is the # for the buildings 705-523-1000. There are about 10 or so buildings there. Some are owned by different companies. Here is one of the #'s I saw.

I have family in Sudbury but have not been there for a few years.
It's pretty rocky...but other than that I didn't mind it.

Hi, Just came back last night from Sudbury. We looked for apartments with no luck. Seems, everyone wants to live there. We did see some really nice apartments near Minnow Lake but no vacanies for the next few months. My friends interview went really well and she got the job. They are going to try and find us an apartment. I really liked the scenery. It was neat to see all the rocks. The people that we met there were very nice. I am looking forward to the move thanks for you help,

I lived in sudbury for 33 yrs ( been gone now 7 yrs)...the lakes downtown the summer climate and the people are great!! It is a friendly city, i hope you enjoy it there!!

I hope you get approved and the move goes smoothly.
I'm envious, I wish when dh decided to move us that he would have opted to stay within the province.
If you get the opportunity, take pictures along the move(it's always nice for scrapbooks) and enjoy the trip/move to Sudbury!
