I have headaches almost every day it seems. It get migraines as well. Sometimes, taking something doesn't even help. I have no choice but to lay in the dark in total quiet until it passes. I don't know if there is any relation to PCOS, but you are not alone.
i do believe it is related to ther pcos. i get such bad migranes that i just have to lie on the bathroom floor with lights off for hours, my sister also has this ( and pcos). drs say they do not know why we get these headaches.
I also have bad headaches, usually everyday. I have gotten so used to them, I don't usually realize it is there, unless it is particularly bad. I find that two aleve in the morning usually help some, or if you have time to lie down and prop up your feet, I put an ice pack on my head. I find the reusuable, heating/cooling gel packs work best, in a little cloth/vinyl sided pouch (comes with most gel packs). Hope this helps!!

Hi!
Just wanted to add to the posts that I get migraines, too. I began to get them when I was 7 or 8, and they were finally "diagnosed" when I was 15 and started to get blind spots (the "aura") before the pain. I now take Nortriptyline, an antidepressant, and it has lessened their frequency somewhat. By the way, my PCOS symptoms also started when I was 15.
If you can, I would strongly recommend seeing a good neurologist or a gynecologist who also specializes in migraines. However, I am 27 and am still trying to find a competant doctor. From about the age of 18 until I was 22, not one of the doctors I ever went to would give me any blood tests to determine if I had PCOS. These people based their opinions on only two things: that I am naturally blonde, thus the hair was not obvious since I spent hours "taking care" of it, and the fact that although horrifically painful, my periods are fairly regular (even though I don't ovulate every month). When I was 22 I moved to a very small town in Northern CA, and it has been a struggle getting the most basic care, which is why I like this site so much! So, I guess I've gotten a little off-topic (sort of turned into a "rant"!), but I just wanted to let you know that migraines can be a really awful part of PCOS. There are almost as many different forms of migraines as there are treatments, and you might have to be a bit of a guinea pig for a while. But don't lose hope! Also, there are many websites for migraines (like Soulcysters for PCOS) where you can read up on articles, types of treatments, etc. Please take care--this is a great place to come and get support about things that can be so hard to tell someone face-to-face. I am extremely close to my family, and haven't uttered a word to them about "my other" symptoms!
Take care...
Yes, I suffer from headaches too. These days they are usually stress headaches though.
I had headaches almost every day when I was a child, all the way up to about 20 or so. My parents sent me to every doctor and specialist imaginable, but no one saw anything wrong with me. Then, at about 20, I had a little accident and had to see a chiropractic. He 'cracked' my back up and down, especially my neck, and lo and behold! my headaches were gone from that day on.
My point is, sometimes headaches can have their origin in things you would never think of, like a nerve that's pinched ever so slightly.
Just my 2 cents' worth. Hope you figure out what causes yours.
