Default anyone suffered from depression when taking the pill?

Hey!
I was wondering if any of you feel depresse since taking the pill. I started noticing that a week before I get my periods, I get very depresse. And it scares me 'cause I already did a depression and it was the worst moment of my life. I also come from a long line of depression in my family, so when I hit rock bottom, it scares me as hell... Should I talk about it with my gyn the next time I go see her or it's just something normal that I haven't gotten yet use to it?

Yep, I cannot take any sort of bcp's or provera! I cry and it makes my depression worse! Although I havent ever been on antidepressants and bcp's at the same time, maybe that would help.

Also I do get more depressed around the time of my period! It sucks!

I was ortho tri cyclen lo.. I was worried to take them anyways because of blood clots.. I was on them for 14 days and had to stop. I was getting pains in my arms and legs my heart was beating very fast and i was getting in the dumps big time. I next day i was feeling a whole lot better. Weird how such a little pill can have such bad reactions to us..

I am taking Seasonale and Zoloft at the same time. I have noticed that when AF comes I get depressed even with the Zoloft. Zoloft does help the rest of the time. Before starting Zoloft, I was depressed most of the time. In Nov. 2004, I talked with my gyn about my depression and she recommended an antidepressant.

I took them in college and my mid to late 20's with no problems, but recently had a lot of trouble trying to go back on them - coincidentally, to help control my PMS. Couldn't take Mircette/Kariva - cried all the time. Tried the Nuvaring recently and had the same problem - I mean if you looked at me sideways, I sobbed. So now I'm on Alesse and I swear it's a miracle drug. Haven't had AF yet thought, so I don't know how my moods will be. But maybe you need a different pill - or an antidepressant to get you through the crunch times. Good luck!

Default depressed?

Depressed would be putting it mildly. I went from maniacal rages where I would literally attack my ex-BF (just "pitty slaps") to depressed nights where I actually wanted to end life.

I will not go back to the pill b/c of that, and I have a copper IUD now. I was on NPC for a while and it did not do any of that, so I guess progestERONE is ok. Not to be confused with progestIN which was even worse for me (depo, Mirena IUD, pills, mini-pills).

Yes, BCP's made me feel depressed. Or at least what I think was depressed. I had never felt that way before taking them. I stopped after 2 months and was back to normal.
