ETA: for the person moving to Wingham (I know I read that somewhere in that thread but can't find it now) you might want to consider keeping your current doc if the drive isn't too bad. There is a doctor shortage throughout Huron and Bruce counties. Too many are retiring or leaving, and thousands of people are on waiting lists. Even people who have a doctor sometimes can't get appointments for three weeks, so they just wind up going to the emergency room for everything but their annual.
I just recently moved to London Ontario. I grew up in Thunder Bay and spent a few months in Sudbury and now to London. I really enjoy living here. It is a beautiful city. Just hard to meet new people

I am seeing an RE here in London, Dr. M. Rebel I find her pretty good but whenever I have an appointment with her, I usually see one of her residents, very rarely do I see her. Also I have seen another Dr. there I think her name was Dr.Hollard- Caines or something close to that. I've found her more informative than Dr. Rebel myself since Dr.Rebels resident said that for PCOS if I want to lose weight then I should cut my serving sizes in half. I didn't find him knowledgable about PCOS at all.
Ashley - Im at the same clinic! How do you like it? How long have you been going there?
Blue - I agree with meeting new people .. Im 30 and I work from my home .. we moved just outside of London not long ago and I have yet to meet anyone! It sucks actually since I moved away from all my friends ... .
Bay - I didnt even know that RE existed .. I only knew about the Soft Clinic in London and the one at University Hospital ...

It seems like there are a few of us from the London area and even some new to the area (me included). Maybe we could set up a date/time to get together and go for coffee or catch a movie. Let me know if anyone is interested in meeting.

I've been going to her for almost 2 years now, and have not got very far. She is at University hospital but also works out of St. Joseph's as well I think. I had never heard of the SOFT clinic until I read about it here. Called them this morning to see how long of a wait it would be to get in to see them-6 weeks and also if needed to get a referral, which I do. So I guess that is my next step. I think it would be a great idea to get together and meet some new people, espeially people who are goig through the same things we are. Also,I moved to London about 1.5 years ago and have not met many people either.
It was about a 6 weeks wait time for my to get the appt I had yesterday. I thought that Dr. Martin was a lil quirky, not in a bad way, he probably would be very interesting outside of his practice. I found him friendly and informative. he told me alot of things that I already knew, but it was a good as he has no way to know what I already knew about.
He is quick as well, I have had all but the proper bloodwork done. So what hes doing for me, is that if this cycle goes to 35 days (i've been having over 100 day cycles even on clomid) hes going to bring on my cycle with a BCP. Then go and have the proper three day bloodwork done, and actually start on clomid that same day. So I came away with two prescriptions, and requisition forms for bloodwork yesterday. He doesn't seem to fool around, hes right to the point.
I'm not actually from london, I'm from Chatham so I can't do the meet up. I'm only gonna be down there when I have appts.

Chatham really isn't that fair, its only an hour drive down the 401. But chatham is small, we don't have any type of specialists, no matter what type of problem you have, fertlity or not, normally we have to travel somewhere for a doctor. chatham people are sorta used to it.

yeah, chatham is sorta in the middle of everything, each Windsor/Sarnia/London are all just one hour away. London actually takes the longest to get to, probably an hour and 5 minutes, and I HATE driving in London. but its really not that bad. my hubs is from Windsor so I'm used to driving the 401 by now. lol
