~~~Anyone take Cod Liver Oil (omega 3 fatty acids)? Biotin? Saw Palmetto?~~~~~~
I am currently on 2000 mg of metformin. I was reading some things on this site about metformin causing deficiences. So I started thinking I should take a multi vitamin.
After doing some reading I saw that Cod Liver Oil (omega 3- fatty acids) is helpful for PCOSers? Anyone take this? How does it help? How much do you take?
I was also reading that Biotin might help with hair loss? Anyone take this? Does it help?
I was also reading that Saw Palmetto is used to help with hair loss and with hirsutism. Any insight on this herb?
I appreciate any info you have. I am so sick of this PCOS crap.
Thanks again.
I started taking Cod Liver Oil in November because I am affected by the seasons and all the darkness of the fall/winter. I was taking 1 capsule a day, but after 3 weeks I started taking 2 capsules a day. I find that the increase is helping me.
I'm not on Met or any similar meds, so I don't know about deficiencies that way.
I'm interested in Saw Palmetto, but since I'm TTC I'm staying clear for now as it can cause birth defects in the male fetus.
HTH.
Thanks Bethers for your reply.
It's been tough trying to find alternative ways to treat this PCOS. I appreciate your input.
