Hi ladies! I am a thin cyster and have been ttc for about 2 years now. Has anyone taken follistim? I am starting that with my next cycle and was curious to know who has done it before and if it was successful for them. I responded sometimes (not everytime) to Clomid, but it was always late in my cycle (like cd 22 in a 36 day cycle). Just praying that the follistim will do the trick!
Also, being a thin cyster, what should I really avoid eating? I (like others that I've read about) can eat anything and I stay the same size. Some well meaning people have tried to tell me that I just need to gain some weight and then it will happen for me. What advice do you all have?

Well, my follies had gotten a bit bigger...but my E2 level had cut in half - that means that I'm still not responding. They increased my dose again and I will go in on Saturday to see if there is any progression. It's a bit frustrating, but my doc says that if it doesn't work this round at least we'll know what dose to start me at!
When are you looking at starting injectables?

I will be starting as soon as af arrives. I was taking Provera to bring it on because I did not ovulate last cycle. I think it is about cd 48 by now! I should start in a few days because I'm getting those af feelings and I'm not pregnant since I didn't even ovulate.
I'm telling myself not to get my hopes up for the first cycle either because "they say" it usually takes more than one. Also because they start you so low to avoid over responding, the nurse told me that it takes a few cycles with PCOS girls. I don't know about you, but I have LOTS of follicles, they just don't grow like they are supposed to!!! I'm really praying that this will work for me because we will likely not do IVF.
Keep us posted on how this goes for you! I noticed you live in TX, me too! I'm in the DFW area.

Stapes - what a small world! We live in McKinney. Where do you live?
I still haven't responded to the injections. My RE has been very slow going with the follistim b/c I have over 20 follies on each ovary. I understand and appreciate that he is being careful, but it is definitely getting frustrating. If I have to go in for another u/s and see that I'm still not responding...oohh, I just don't think that way! I'm trying to stay positive, but those vibes are starting to run out.
Hopefully you'll be one of the lucky ones and respond right away. Who is your doc?

I'm sorry to hear that you are not responding like you would have hoped. AF actually arrived today for me so I will start tomorrow. I'm nervous now - before I had nothing to look forward to only to let me down (if that makes sense). But now, I am starting over and really don't want to go through disappointment yet again. I am sure you understand the emotional roller coaster that this journey takes you on. Will you start the next cycle at a higher dosage? I am starting at 50. I have always had lots of little follicles so I am praying that 50 will be enough to give them a "boost." I am praying for your next appointment to be an uplifting one! I will PM you...
