 Megace: I will not use it again.
My doc prescribed it to stop my out of control menstal bleeding and although there was no pain while taking it, as soon as I had my next period I was in agony. The cramps were beyond awful and I'm not one who normally has bad cramps. Each period the pain was reduced just a little bit but the pain remained with me for at least 4 months before the Megace was finally out of my system. I recently had to take it and although I took it for only half the lengh prescribed (doc ok'd it) I am now, 2 weeks later, in agony again. For me, the pain is unbearable and I just cry. My doc (only after begging) prescribed Ponstel to stop the cramps but a warning, Ponstel cost me $214 for 24 pills. My 'male' doc believes that Megace does not stay in the body for any length of time and does not do what I claimed it is putting me through. Unless my life is on the line I will not use Megace/Megestrol again. |
