Anyone take Ortho Novum, or should I try Yasmin?

Hi, just wondering if anyone is taking Ortho Novum, it has been 5 years since I have taken bcps, and I am curious if it is still the best choice for me. My dr put me on it (ortho novum 1/35) when I was 16 and I took it for just about 10 years, and it was always fine, but I am older now, etc... don't know if it will be as effective.
After reading that Yasmin helps with water retention, I would like to try it b/c I have major elephant ankles... gotta get rid of that water!!! But, alot of people sound like they get depressed on Yasmin, and I certainly don't need that !
Any advice would be appreciated...

I was on Ortho Novum about 5 years ago. The whole experience was a nightmare for me. I gained over 40lbs and my blood pressure shot through the roof- I had to go off it after about 6 months. Thankfully, that's all behind me now.

I know that BCPs can affect different women in different ways, so keep that in mind. However, from MY OWN experience, I wouldn't suggest Ortho Novum to my WORST enemy.

(Up until a few months ago, I was on Ortho Micronor- a low dose "mini-pill" that worked great- no side effects...maybe it's something you should ask your doc about.)

I took ortho novum 777 for 10 years or so.then took a 8 year break cuz I was trying to concieve. I now take yasmin, it has helped with the water retention and the lovely pms bloat.I have had several headaches(I have always had headaches) with the yasmin versus the ortho.I personally like yasmin best.
