Hi all,

I believe I may find metformin / glucophage here where I live OTC. What are your opnions of someone taking this without prescription? Also, do many thin cysters take it?

I would not advise taking met without a prescription. I took metformin 1500mg and had serious stomach and bathroom issues which interferred with work. In addition you have to be monitored on this medication for various liver and kidney problems that may occur from met. I must say it did regulate my periods, however the stomach problems where very bad.

Thanks Serenityy, I didnt know that about the liver & kidney probs. Sounds like serious stuff!
