Last year, I heard a few people talk about being on insulin and an insulin sensitizer. I didn't do well on Met, and when I first started, did great with Actos, so I'm wondering if there's anyone who is taking both Actos and Insulin.

I am taking Lantus 44 Units before bed at night. Just wondering whether I should take the Actos in the morning or at night? Does anyone have any thoughts on this. Also are they both working for you??

I wish I could help, but I am not on insulin. I do know that my aunt takes both insulin and Actos. I think she told me that she takes the actos with her insulin in the afternoon because that is when her blood sugar is at it's worst. If I were you I would consult your dr to make sure what is best for you. Sorry I could be more helpful.

I take met and insulin, as met on its own with another diabetic tablet didnt control me. I dont know about actos, but i take my met in the morning with my morning dose of insulin and again at supper with my evening dose. As met also makes your receptors sensitive to the insulin, thats when i was told to take it.. probably no help at all lol but thought i would throw my 2 cents in...lol

My doctor had me on 50 units of Lantus in the am and amaryl and my blood sugars were a mess...rarely below 200. So...he said to ditch it and put me on the novolog flex pen 12 units with meals.
