I am starting on cyproterone on my next cycle and I want to read about other peoples experiences on it - especially relating to hair loss, skin improvemnet and side-effects. maybe it is known by another name outside australasia.

would really appreciate your help - from pcos newbie.

Cyproterone acetate is also called Androcur? It is not legal in the USA but cysters in Europe perhaps could help you. It is also an ingredient in the Diane 35 bcp I think.

androcur is the generic cyproterone. i believe the standard dose is 50-100 mg po daily. it is also a component of diane-35, but in much smaller doses. (2 mg in combination with an estrogen)

i took diane-35 for approximately 6-7 months. i did see a decrease in the amount of facial hair and had virtually no acne while on it. as far as side-effects go, i did have some moderate nausea for the first couple of weeks while my body adjusted to the medication. but after the first course of pills, i was nausea-free.
