Question Anyone taking gluc + avandia

Hi all I was wondering if anyone is taking or has tried glucophage xr and avandia? One of the docs I work for ( who really like to research stuff) found several studies that show gluc + avandia = better results at lowering testosterone levels. I started both today but wanted to know if anyone else has tried it or doing it. thanks Btw he is going to treat me for a while instead of my RE and keep an eye on my labs, etc.

I was on both for a few months before I became pg. I was on 1500mg of XR and 8mg of avandia. Just make sure to get liver test every few months becuase of the Avandia more so than the XR. Good Luck with the combo. The meds didn't help regulate my cycles but it sure help me to wake up in the mornings. On weekends, I use to sleep 18 hours or more a day.

thanks for the reply Sarah. I'm hoping it will help. Last time my testosterone was like 85.4 The gluc helped some but not a whole lot.

Default XR and Avandia

Hi Sherry,

I just listed a similar post today. I have been taking XR for a few months now and my endo just added Avandia and I too am wondering how it fares with anyone else out there? Im still not having regular menzies, although I was hoping I would with the XR and the Metformin. What I got was 3 months with a cycle and so far, almost 3 months without. Im hoping that by adding the Avandia, it will surprise me and make me ovalulate and have a somewhat normal cycle. How are things going with you?

Hi Trisha. I had about the same experience with the glucophage xr. I had 1 cycle after about 3 months on it and since then nothing. I did lose weight and my skin oiliness decreased some. I've been taking the avandia added to it since Sat and now feel hungry most of the time!! Have you noticed that? If you want to you can email me at sgmorgan@farmerstel.com

I wish I knew why it helps wake me up. I have no clue - I am just glad it does!
