I saw a post about this in 2007, but nobody replied.

When my new doctor suggested metformin, I nearly cried in her office. This was her alternative - Januvia plus metformin.

Am I the only one taking this? I'm on it in conjunction with Byetta injections.

I just heard of this and my mom takes Januvia for type -2 .She would like to be on MET. because it cheaper and I'm lossing weight on it so she is going to ask her DOC about Janumet. How is it working for you?

My sugar cravings have subsided DRAMATICALLY, which is great. I've lost 5 lbs in the first 3 weeks of taking Janumet in conjunction with Byetta.

The Byetta worked great in terms of losing weight for the first two weeks I took it a year or so ago (I lost 5-7 lbs in two weeks) but my brain got smart and I put the weight back on. So my doctor put me on Janumet as well.

Hopefully now that the Janumet is controlling my sugar cravings and my appetite in general, the weight will stay off and I will continue to lose it - 25 lbs to go! I'm not experiencing terrible side effects - some nausea and constipation-diarhea, so its manageable.

I guess the unique combination of the Januvia and metformin in this drug is a 1-2 punch for controlling sugar. I don't really like being on any drugs, but its working.

Starting on Janumet tomorrow. Doc suggested it might help with weight loss. I was on met but not losing.
