I'm currently only on 500mg per day as my RE doesn't think IR is the main issue. However, everything I've read indicates that I would fair better on a higher dose (at least 1000mg).

Anyone have any pointers/literature I can use to help convince him to up my dosage?

I don't know of any exact article, I'd google it. However! I wanted to tell you, I am thin, not IR, and Metformin is for more than just high insulin!! It regulated my hormones, making my Ovulate on 2000mg. If I take any less, I do not O. If he will not up your dose, he is not informed enough about PCOS and I hate to be brash but find a new DR who is well informed about PCOS.

Thanks for the input. I don't think you're being brash at all. My RE is very knowledgeable overall but I question how often he works w/ pcos patients that don't fit the norm (i.e. thin pcos). I'm going to see him later this week to discuss what else will help and I really want to go in armed w/ enough info to convince him that increasing the Met dose is a wise decision. He's just hesitant because I'm not IR and I can understand that but I'm not getting any younger and I've been ttc for 3 & 1/2 years so it's getting old!!
