Anyone tried 5-HTP? I've been finding myself being very anxious about food lately, and I've noticed that when I've not eaten for a while, I am particularly anxious, so it gets harder to eat that something that will lessen the anxiety (vicious circle). When my blood sugar is stable (after I've eaten a decent meal), I no longer have the anxiety. I did some research and read that for some people, it's could be a seratonin abnormality and that 5-HTP (which is a variant on tryptophan, the stuff in the turkey!) can help with that. I've seen that it can have effectiveness both to aid weight loss for the obese, but moderate the mood of the underweight. I'm wondering if anyone has had any experience with it for either appetite moderation or mood moderation, and what kinds of success or side effects they had.
