Default Anyone tried Nioxin?

My mom got me some of this at her hair appointment yesterday and I used it the first time this morning. Anyone have any experiences/suggestions/anything I should know about it?

Thanks ladies.

there are a couple threads about nioxin....
i personally have had some success with it, or at least i think i have. i have used it for a couple years. the thining seems to have lessened and it seems fuller.
don't expect overnite results, can take a couple to 6 months to sometimes tell a difference.
i think it is worth it though.....good luck

I used it for two years and did not notice any difference. Just found that my hair dried out quiclkly. My mom thinks it does wonders for her though. I think that her hair is very dry and frizzy but I do not tell her that would make her upset.

Thanks for your opinions, ladies. I will have to find out for sure what it costs (my mom bought the starter kit for me) because that may influence my decision.

I've been using Nioxin for 3 weeks and really like it so far. I got the starter kit from my hairdresser. I have not noticed and reduction in hair loss yet (although if I did, I would think that this was a miracle product!!!), but I am keeping my fingers crossed. At this point, I'd do almost anything to stop my hair from falling out and to regrow some (or all hopefully) of what I've already lost.

I didn't notice any drastic change (I used it for almost a year). Thankfully, once I got pregnant, I stopped losing hair. I haven't lost any since Rivi was born (his gift for his mama, I guess).

Shannabel i did some nioxin training tonight, and asked about the dry hair problem for you, maybe you have been using the wrong one? there is a new range out for thicker hair which basically mean more moisturising, dont give up, try to give it a go, but like i have said before, not everyone will like it. Nioxin is mainly for the scalp, great for the hair too, but yeh mainly to stimulate hair growth and provide a healthy environment for the hairs to grow in.

Also for those of you who said they didnt notice much difference, i dont know what you were using, but the more products in the range you use the better the results will be. also you need to keep using it or else if you stop the hair loss will come back

I feel like the shampoo makes the hair really dry, and the conditioner makes it really oily. I've been getting bad dandruff (which I normally don't have) for a few weeks now. Every couple of days, I use my regular shampoo with no conditioner, which has helped.

Not sure if it's really working. Going on 2 months now, but I can say that the "itchy" feeling has gone away. Whenever I was losing hair and my scalp was tingly/itchy, I'd always get nervous. Since starting Nioxin, that has gone away.
