Default Anyone tried Proactiv?

I finally ordered it after seeing the commercial a million times. And trust me, this is the first and only time I have ordered something from an infomercial! My breakouts aren't bad enough for medication anymore -- now that I'm 31! But, I needed a good skincare regimen to keep the occasional neck cyst away and other breakouts, and I got it in the mail yesterday.

So far I really like it -- it's all easy to use, feels good on the skin, ect. I was just wondering if anyone else has tried it and if it has worked!?

Hi Lauren-
I use Proactiv and my skin looks outstanding! This is the first time in my life that I can leave the house without heavy foundation and feel completely comfortable. In the past I have tried antibiotics, retin a, accutane, you name it and it never really made a difference. At 35 years of age I was tired of breaking out like a teenager. Well I had given up hope when I decided to try Proactiv. I saw results in about a month. My skin looks smoother, clearer and firmer. I haven't had any full breakouts since using it. Anyway, I really hope it works out for you! Keep us updated on your progress.

Good Luck!!

Heather

Thanks for getting back to me! : ) I am so excited!! I, too, have tried all of those things and I want great looking skin as well! YAY!

One more question: Have you tried any of their other products, or have you just stuck with the three main things plus the masks? All the other stuff looks interesting, too, but I don't want to throw my money away -- ya know?

Thanks again -- I'll let you know how it goes!

I originally ordered the 5 piece kit that has the Daily Oil Control and the Oil Free Moisturizer. The Daily Oil Control is great to use in the hot and humid weather as I tend to be like an oil slick. It really works at controlling the greasies but I don't use enough of it to warrant getting it with each delivery ( I have three tubes of it sitting in my medicine cabinet!), especially now that the weather is cooling off, so I changed back to the 3 piece kit. The Oil Free Moisturizer is fine but I felt it would be better to order them when I need them. I also ordered separately the Mild Exfoliating mask and the Clarifying night cream. I don't like the Mild Exfoliating mask at all. It smells awful and stings. As for the Clarifying Night cream, you are suppossed to use it in the evenings in place of the Refining Cream but I felt like my skin looked better when I used the Refining cream 2x a day so I'm not going to reorder it. I know it's tempting to want to try the other products (I'm a product junky by nature!) but I think you should just see how your skin does on the regular kit and then decide if you want to add to your regimine. Now that my skin is clear I'm a little paranoid at messing around with other products too much. You know the old saying-if it ain't broke don't fix it!

Best-
Heather

Thumbs up Not personally...

but my younger sister (not Cyster, LOL) has had amazing results with Proactiv and is on the monthly shipments and has used it successfully for three-plus years. Good luck!

Hi Lauren!

I'm glad you're excited about Proactiv!!! I have used it for a couple of years at least now, and I'm pretty happy with the results. It hasn't gotten rid of ALL my blemishes, but it’s really controlled my breakouts, which is most important to me. I can cover up one or two zits, but not a whole face full!

Personally I've used the 3 pc kit (Renewing Cleanser, Revitalizing Toner & Repairing Lotion) and the Refining Mask, and Deep Cleansing Wash.

The mask is GREAT! I love the mask. I usually use it to spot treat, but will do my full face only once or twice a month. The Cleansing Wash is like a body wash. I'm not really crazy about this one... It’s like the Renewing Cleanser in that it has the abrasives in it, and I don't like that feeling all over my body, but I do use it on my chest and back (break out areas for me).

I've also used the Advanced Blemish Treatment, which comes in a very small tube and it’s supposedly for spot treatments. I've found the mask works better for my spot treating.

The one thing I haven't tried yet that I really want to is the Oil Blotter Sheets. I do have a problem with oily skin, especially in the summer, so I think these would be better used then just powdering ALL THE TIME!!!

I haven’t used any of their make-up products (concealers, powders, etc.). I use Physician’s Formula make-up products, and so far I’ve been very happy with their stuff.

Be well & safe!

I'd like to try it but much of my problem is on my chest neck and back. IS this a realistic product that I could use all over or too expensive and labor intensive? I currently use benzoyle peroxide cremes to help but would like to try proactiv since these are very drying and can burn, especially my neck. Anyone use it besides their face???

chrissy, use the body acne neutrogena gel. I had some probs with chest and back acne and i've been using the neutragena for a few weeks and it's cleared up considerably. I never used to worry about body acne but now that I have a boyfriend it's more of a concern for me!

I bought it a few months ago and love it, I don't think I'll ever use another product, its well worth the price.

I would always break out on my chin and I've only had one pimple on my chin since I started using it, and it was my fault, I ate something that I'm allergic to and it causes me to break out.

I'm tempted to try the body wash because I break out on my back quite a bit, has anyone had good results with it?

Have any of you got dry skin from using it? In the last couple days it has been making my skin go really dry. Do you think it would be alright to put lotion on my face? Or would the lotion be a bad idea because it would make it more oily than before?

Default Hi,

I'm New And I Just Wanted To Tell You That I Have Tried Proactive And It Broke My Face Out More. It's Best To Go See A Dermotoligist Because That's The Only Thing That Helped Me.

My acne isn't very bad but I decided I'd try Proactiv to see if it helped clear things up. I used it and my face broke out and swelled up horribly. Looked like a monster for a few days.
