Default ~~~~~~~~~Anyone try APRI?~~~~~~~

My doctor is recommending this "low dose pill". It has 30mg of estrogen as opposed to the regular 35. I know this might sound crazy but I am SOOOOOO afraid of taking BCPs again. Anyone else feel this way? I really do feel that I did not have a problem with PCOS (or it was not apparent) until I was on BCPs for 6 straight years. When I went off them my whole body went out of whack (hormone wise). I suffered TERRIBLE migraines on the BCPs too. I know we need to use a form of BC right now plus I want something to help with the hair growth/loss and acne issues.

Anyone have experience with this pill?

This is the pill my doctor replaced mircette with i'm still not sure if i like this pill i hate side effects , i might go without the pill and take provera every 3 months to bleed . I'm still bloated on this pill my breasts are killing me and i just feel funky on bcp's .
my pcos makes it to where i only bleed maybe a few times a yr so the pill is used to regulate me i'm too the point who cares i want off the rollercoaster of hormones

I am taking Desogen, which is the name brand (Apri is the generic) and I am very happy with it. My skin and hair are great, my moods are not impacted, and I have not had weight gain issues. I have been very happy. It might be worth a shot. However, I would recommend the name brand as I did notice a difference with generic pills (more breakthrough bleeding).

Thanks girls for your replies!

I was wondering if any of you have noticed a decrease in your sex drive on this pill? It was a MAJOR problem I had way back when I used to be on BCPs 8 yrs ago. I am hoping because this is a lower dose pill it will not be so bad??

Levlen was the pill I wanted but due to having to pay $40 for it as opposed to $10 generic.. I went with generic. I hope I do not regret it.

Thanks again!

Default Be wary

I was on Apri and HATED it. It gave me migraines (and I am not usually migraine-y) and my sex drive was gone. I see that some people have had good experiences with it, however, so I guess it really depends on the person.
