Default Anyone try a chiropractor?

So the chef (Debby) I work with, her wife (Julia)is a chiropractor and has offered to take care of me for free I just got back from my second visit and she says things are shaping up nicely. I had a horrible fall when I was about 5 years old that caused my neck to start curving in the opposite direction, which would be one reason for my horrible posture (plus it's the beginning of arthritis). She did two in my neck last week. This week she did one in my neck and a couple in my back. I didn't exactly have pain but a lot of tension back there and my arm would be going numb and my shoulders cracked a lot. I already feel a difference. I just bought new work shoes that have real good support and shock absorption. I'm looking into getting rid of The Futon (which I've been sleeping on for 5 years) and getting a good quality mattress. Plus me getting back on track with the weightloss and strength training will help tons espescially if I can get my boobs to shrink about 10 sizes x-X okay, maybe more like 6...6 inches would be a great decrease, I'm about 42 right now -.-* It'd be nice to see my feet again too...

She said she could also tell just from feeling my spine that I don't have regular periods. Which is true because I haven't had on since march. This should hopefully make things flow. Not that I'm looking forward to having my period, but unfortunatly it's too unhealthy for me not to have it :/ But anywho, my adjustments should help with that as well as other things. Yay!

So I wondered if anyone else here has had chiropractor treatments and if they helped with anything pcos related or just at all.

LOVE MY CHIRO!!! It hasn't helped with PCOS, but it sure has helped me be able to move my neck again and I've even stopped having my jaw problems too. I too have a reverse curve of my neck. I went 3x a week for 4 weeks, 2x for 4 weeks, then 1x for 4 weeks. I'm not considered maintenance and go once a month. I really miss seeing him 3x a week though. It improved my golf game this year too! Bonus!

My chiro told me that regular appointments would probably help me, but the whole time I was there I felt like I was in a used car lot. Pressure, pressure, pressure. i hated it. I don't know if what he said is true or if he just wanted to sell me something. i guess I just need to find a new guy.

I have to side with a-mac on this one. Once they find out what your insurance accepts they automatically devise a schedule for you...I am not impressed...I went for 2 months...Went through the xrays was told my neck curved big time the wrong way & that I too had beginnings of arthritis in my neck...
I guess I just can't let go of the time when I was 13 in gymanstics & I had a severe fall off the beam...I couldn't walk...There was a chiroprator right next door to us. My coach carried me over to get xrays..the chiro told me/ & coach it was a bad sprain & the best thing to do was walk on it...Hello it ended up being a severe fracture & thankfully it healed ok because I could have been crippled for life...So with that, I will stick to a massage every now & then...

My chiropractor is great. They do not Pressure me at all to go in. I've never had they try to get me to do anything because of my insurance.

My brother is a chiro and my SIL is a nutrionist, i can tell you from experience that it's no joke/scam.....chiro/alternative medicine can help. i know it's hard, i've been a skeptic too. I try to get adjusted a couple times a month, but know i should go more.

My SIL and I have been talking and i want her to start a ttc program for dh and I. We've been down the M.D. route and they didn't do anything for us....couldn't explain why we weren't getting pg....everything was working great w/the drugs, and i still wouldn't get pg. plus after doing a low-carb/exercise regiman since March....i've o'ed on my own 6 out of the 10 months, and that's never happened in my life!!! so i'm hoping it's going to just take some natural remedies to give my body the boost it needs?? fingers-crossed.

ok...i'll get around to an answer.....
chiro is wonderful, but just a piece of the puzzle. diet, exercise, supplement are the rest....it all works together. you could ask your chiro is she knows of a nutritionist, natrualpath that could offer some advice.

i will try to update on here with any progress.

good luck!!
