tschaff - my mom is diabetic, so I have always been aware of my BS levels since I am at risk. When I got pg last time, I started monitoring my BS with a Reli-on monitor. While pg, fasting levels were about 105 mg/dl. After I m/c, I asked to be put on Met, since I thought I was IR. Doc prescribed 500/mg 2x/day. My fasting BS went down to around 95-98 mg/dl. After a few weeks with Met, I wanted better results than that, so I started on Cinnamon (1000mg, 3x/day) and my fasting levels went down to 85-89 mg/dl. My BS levels throughout the day also improved with cinnamon, while on Met, but it really depends on what I eat. Simple carbs aren't handled as well, so I still get spikes every now and again. HTH Cheers, Dianna
